Pork Tidbits / Carnitas
This recipe is so easy and turns out quite similar to Carnitas. Slow cooking in the oven results in brown crispy tops to the meat while the bottom layer is soft, juicy, and tender. These pork bits are great in tacos and burritos, or even skewered served with Guacamole!
Ingredients;
1 1/2 pds. boneless pork shoulder
Garlic salt
Pepper
Guacamole, salsa, or salsa Verde (green sauce)
Directions;
- Cut pork into 1- inch cubes and spread into lightly oiled 12 by 7 1/2 by 2 inch glass casserole dish.
- Sprinkle all over evenly with garlic salt and pepper.
- Add water to the dish to the depth of 1/2 inch.
- Bake in 350* oven 2 to 2 1/2 hours or till water evaporates and meat is brown.
- Skewer and serve with sauce of choice or mix meat with sauce and fill tortillas.
I like this served best with either Salsa Verde or Guacamole!
It really is a winner!
